Direct Support Professional (DSP)
Job Summary
- Support individuals in daily living skills development, promoting independence and self-sufficiency.
- Assist with health and wellness management, including monitoring dietary and physical needs.
- Medication reminders as prescribed and ensure proper documentation.
- Implement individualized support plans (ISP) tailored to each individual’s unique needs and goals.
- Provide personal care assistance, including hygiene and grooming support.
- Foster communication skills and behavioral development through positive reinforcement and tailored strategies.
- Collaborate with family members, healthcare providers, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for all individuals served.
- Clearly and accurately document and reports maintenance or household needs to appropriate supervisors.
- Arrive on time and work scheduled shifts.
- Maintain staff coverages until relief staff are on duty or until a supervisor has given approval to leave.
- Accepts and offers guidance and instruction to/from co-workers in a helpful manner.
- Safely operate company vehicles in line with company policies to include running errands, transporting individuals to appointments, community outings, shopping, etc.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in health or social services preferred.

Supervisor
Job Summary
- Supervise and mentor a team of Direct Support Professionals, providing guidance and support in their daily responsibilities.
- Develop and implement training programs for DSPs to enhance skills and knowledge in supporting individuals.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with families, healthcare providers, and other professionals to create and maintain individualized support plans (ISP).
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided by DSPs, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
- Conduct regular team meetings to discuss individuals’ progress, share best practices, and foster a positive work environment.
- Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new DSP staff.
- Participate in the assessment and development of individuals’ needs and goals.
- High school diploma or equivalent; a two year degree in social services, health care, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience working as a Direct Support Professional or in a similar role, with supervisory experience highly desirable.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of disability services, health and wellness management, and individualized support planning.
- Ability to work alone and collaborate with families, individuals, and community resources.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to safely operate a passenger vehicle.

Weekend Supervisor
Job Summary
Department: Operations
Location: Lifetime Skills Home Healthcare Services
Reporting To: Residential Manager / Director of Care
Effective Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Part-Time /Weekend
The Weekend Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and delivery of quality home healthcare services during weekends. This includes oversight of field staff, managing client care needs, responding to emergencies, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and standards.
- Scope of Work
The Weekend Supervisor will oversee all client and staff-related activities occurring during the weekend period (typically Saturday and Sunday, with possible Friday evening coverage depending on needs). This role ensures that clients receive continuous, high-quality care in line with their care plans.
- Key Responsibilities
Operational Supervision
- Coordinate weekend staffing schedules and ensure all shifts are covered.
- Supervise and support Personal Support Workers (PSWs), Coordinate with Nurse, and other field staff.
- Conduct check-ins and briefings with field staff at the start and end of shifts.
Client Care Oversight
- Monitor delivery of client care services and address any concerns or issues.
- Respond to urgent client or family calls, including crisis situations.
- Ensure client care plans are followed accurately.
Emergency and Incident Response
- Act as the first point of contact for incidents, emergencies, or client complaints.
- Document and report all incidents according to internal protocols.
- Liaise with emergency services or escalate issues to the Operations Managementnager as necessary.
Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of weekend activities.
- Complete incident reports, shift summaries, and communication logs.
- Communicate with weekday supervisory staff to ensure continuity of care and operations.
Staff Support and Development
- Provide guidance, feedback, and on-the-spot coaching to weekend staff.
- Assist in onboarding and orientation for new weekend hires (if applicable).
- Promote and uphold standards of care and professional behavior.
- Key Deliverables
- Fully staffed and managed weekend shifts.
- Timely and appropriate resolution of incidents or service disruptions.
- Accurate and complete documentation of weekend operations.
- Continuity of care for clients with minimal disruption.
- Diploma or degree in Healthcare Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years experience in a supervisory or leadership role in home healthcare or a similar environment.
- Strong understanding of home care practices and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and crisis management skills.
- Weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday, 12 hours Shift), with potential for on-call duties.
- Remote and field-based work, including home visits if necessary.
Must have access to a reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of local health system and community services.
